Megan Crouse is a multi-disciplinary designer traversing the worlds of music, architecture and film-making.

As a song writer she draws from a diverse range of influences creating a rich, eclectic tapestry of acoustic and electronic sound. She writes, records and produces everything herself and collaborates primarily with partner Rufus. In addition to his unique and skilful Harmonica talent, he brings a plethora of multi-instrumental flavours to the project.

Her debut album Figure of 8 has been an alchemical and healing process which has spanned the best part of ten years. It has also served as the vehicle for learning all aspects of music production. Her long-standing practice of yoga and self enquiry continues to be the foundation for her creative self expression. 

​

The songs are ultimately a celebration of the mystery in the personal and collective human experience. They are a great companion whereever one might find themselves on the journey of growth and expansion. 

​

Strong rhythm and bass lines combine with etheric synth, hearty acoustics and authentic lyrics form a soundscape that is transcendent, heartfelt and raw, bringing the listener to a place of timeless beauty in the full spectrum of human experience. The light, the dark and the muddy in between.

The creating of the album 'Figure of 8' has been a journey which started many years ago. Starting from absolute zero before I dared to sing or play the guitar and when I was just starting to relearn the little bits of piano from the lessons I'd taken as a child.

Slowly, slowly, in the pockets of time, of a very busy life working full-time as an Architect and Yoga Teacher the songs started to trickle in... Some come gently and effortlessly, others took years to land. Especially in the beginning.

I returned again and again to sit in front of the computer to learn the basics of production. Returned again and again, to my note book as words started to flow, returned to sit by the piano, to open my mouth and let out some sounds, to play with any instruments I could get my hands on, again and again returning to the music, to a place where I could play and experiment without inhibition, to a song to the next step, without yet knowing what that step would be.

I would sit, sometime for a very long time, without knowing what the next step would be, but eventually it would always reveal itself without fail. No matter how much resistance, fear, overwhelm or insecurity might get in the way, I would always take the next step.

These songs have been my teachers and my companions on this magical journey. It is now time to release them in the world to weave their magic whilst I continue to focus on developing the live set more fully.
